Custom Made Insoles

Custom Made Insoles are recommended over Off the Shelf Insoles for an increased accuracy in prescription as well as fit.

The measuring technique, prescription and materials used will depend on what function the insoles are being used for;

Insoles are used to help soft tissue conditions and injuries, including Plantar Heel Pain/Plantarfasciitis, Achilles Tendonopathy, Peroneal Tendonitis, Tibialis Posterior Dysfunction to name a few. Here the insoles are used to either reduce the strain through a particular muscle or tendon or offload a specific area of the foot. In these instances either 3D scans are taken, or the dynamic pressure scanner is used to obtain an accurate shape and the prescription is guided by your specific issue.

Osteoarthritis in the small joints in your feet and ankles can be debilitating. Reducing the movement in these painful joints or moving the force away from the affected area can be achieved with the correctly prescribed insole. Scans and impressions can be used to achieve the best results.

In diabetes, foot care and protection is essential to reduce risks of ulceration and amputation. For diabetic people insoles can be used to reduce high pressure areas of your feet therefore reducing the risk of sores and ulceration. I will often still use an impression box and EVA moulded insoles in these cases.

Along with establishing the correct prescription, the insoles also need to be made for the right footwear. They can be made low profile for different types of day to day footwear or tighter fitting cycling/football boots. They can be made to shorter length or full length and have the option of a top cover which dries quickly if needed after a wet day.
